Apps to support mobility for people in old age

A total of 10 apps are being developed as part of the project. They are all easy to use and can be used on smartphones, tablets and TVs. These apps are intended to help people prepare for a journey, support them in their everyday life and promote their mobility. The offer includes traffic information, route planner, notes, navigation, physical training, first aid, route recording and games. MotivationThe mobility of seniors is influenced by the fact that many transport services are nowadays only offered digitally. Planning and preparing a trip as well as navigating on site often requires technological knowledge that is often beyond the capabilities of older people. Therefore, MOBILE.OLD is researching the usability and accessibility of mobile services and intuitive interfaces for seniors.GoalsTo create easy-to-use apps that can be used on the smartphone, tablet and the TV. These apps should help people to prepare for a trip, support them in their everyday life and promote their mobility.

   

After the already successfully completed EU project HOMEdotOLD, LIFEtool is involved as coordinator of this follow-up project with a total of 10 project partners. Both projects are part of the existing AAL projects (Ambient Assisted Living) of the EU. Together with renowned partners such as SIEMENS, LIFEtool is leading the design, as well as the overall involvement of people in old age, in the evaluations of the prototypes.
