This project has set itself the goal to build an infrastructure that allows companies, organisations and people to develop products and solutions for people with special needs in a simple and cost-saving way.

Motivation

Worldwide, more than 2 billion people are living with various disabilities. There are a variety of different types, degrees, or combinations of restrictions in writing and reading skills, digital competence or age-related impairments, which often complicate or prevent the use of information and communication technologies (ICT). With the project Prosperity4All it should succeed to offer access to modern ICT to all people with special needs.

Objectives

The objective of the project is the provision of an infrastructure for the easy and cost-effective development of digital products and solutions for people with special needs. In addition entirely new kinds of Assistive Technology should be developed.

Together with 25 partners including Fraunhofer and Raising the Floor, LIFEtool implements the software tools to in-house products. LIFEtool is also responsible for the integration of people with special needs as part of the evaluation process.

The project joins the existing projects of the Global Public Inclusive Infrastructure (GPII). GPII is a software and service expansion of our Internet infrastructure. With its help users can use their personalized, accessible interface from any networked device (e.g. ATM, ticket machines, PC, etc.)
